As part of our core offering the Technical Lead is the person that makes sure the solutions are built and architected the right way. They lead software development teams with a wide range of skills to make sure that they fully understand the solution that needs to be built and the best platforms, frameworks and approach.

A Tech Lead can deliver solutions working closely with project managers, designers, user experience, amongst other disciplines and constantly finds ideas of ways to improve the platform and project getting developed. 

For one of our main clients we are currently performing a large piece of ongoing work around e-commerce on a cloud based solution (AWS/Microservices) with the ability to generate an API at the heart of their business to make their product available for any platform. This project is transformational for their business in terms of operations and architecture.


Purpose:

The overall goal of Technical Lead is to work with a varied team to deliver robust, secure, efficient and properly built digital solutions on a range of technologies. This solutions can be the foundations for large implementations such as e-commerce or great campaign work that’s shaping the future of end user engagements with brands.


What it takes:

You have been Leading and architecting software development projects for web apps, mobile apps and e-commerce sites across multiple devices and platforms and have a full understanding of mobile web optimisation, accessibility techniques, security and devops.

You are a technical thinker who is pro-active, enthusiastic and committed to delivering solutions that our clients will love.

You work well at defining features and architectures for platforms and leading a team to implement it.

You can work closely with UX, Strategy and Design teams towards building digital platforms.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable, secure and efficient solutions
  • Works with software development teams to decide the best frameworks, libraries and approach
  • Work closely with project management to make sure the team is on track and are clear of their tasks and what’s needed to accomplish them
  • Create detailed technical specifications to guarantee and understanding of the solution that needs to be built
  • Be a champion of agile processes and align those with the necessary best software development and deployment practices
  • Be the glue between front-end, back-end, third party integrations and the overall team to make  sure solutions are built according to standards


Key ingredients:

  • Strong attention to detail and a problem solving nature
  • Manage different software development skills and channel them towards creating the best solution possible
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on being clear and concise
  • Good understanding and use of technologies i.e. Front-end (JS/HTML/CSS), Backend (APIs/Microservices), Mobile (Android/iOS), DevOps (Cloud Based Solutions)

  • Constantly thinking about improvements on the project that can deliver better scalability, performance and experience
  • On the lookout for new practices that can help make the software development process better and more robust
  • Inspiring the community by showing the new opportunities that changes on technology and platforms bring
  • Keeping up to date with new frameworks, libraries and cloud based solutions
  • Working closely with our existing technology, UX, strategy and design teams to help build robust and reliable solutions for a range of top quality brands.
  • Sharing your knowledge of emerging technologies as well as help educate the wider team about any best practice, recent builds or particular code methods you’ve got hidden up your sleeve.

Timing:

This is an immediate vacancy however we recognise that notice periods vary and are willing to wait for the right candidate to become available.
